Through this experience, he learned more about cardiovascular health and was empowered to share this knowledge with others. As a Teen of Impact nominee, Marshall developed strong leadership and communication skills as he recruited a team to facilitate fundraising for the American Heart Association. He held meetings with his team throughout the campaign, providing encouragement and tending to any questions or concerns with weekly emails. Because of this experience, Marshall gained the confidence to apply for a leadership position at his school, which he was subsequently selected for. The time, support, and guidance that Marshall received from staff partners as he prepared for the campaign and throughout the fundraising process was outstanding. Teen of Impact has truly been an amazing and eye-opening experience for Marshall which has sparked an even greater desire within him to serve his community in any way that he can.”
